Wine Forest Wild Foods was founded in Napa, California in 1981 by Connie Green, a self-taught forager whose love of wild ingredients traces back to childhood foraging on her grandparents' farm. Green built the company from a network of skilled mushroom hunters working the forests of the West Coast, Canada, and beyond, hand-picking only the finest specimens rather than buying into the bulk wild-mushroom trade. That discipline earned Wine Forest a following among top American chefs, including Thomas Keller of The French Laundry. This porcini selection reflects that same standard: mushrooms foraged in Northern California's forests, then carefully dried to concentrate their deep, earthy flavor for soups, sauces, and any dish that calls for a hit of umami.

Absolutely loved the cheese store! Everyone was super helpful and friendly. Lena helped us — she was very knowledgeable on all the cheeses: where they came from, what the region is like, what they are known for. It was like wine tasting for cheese.
