Top Italian and French cheeses, carefully selected
Domenico and his team are fantastic. I’m a chef and I often get my supplies from The Cheese Store — unique products, carefully selected, from top Italian and French cheeses to excellent local ones.

Tenuta San Guido Sassicaia, a renowned Italian wine, translates to "the place of many stones" or "stony ground" in the local Tuscan dialect. This name reflects the gravelly, stony soil of the vineyard where the wine is produced by Tenuta San Guido in Bolgheri, Tuscany. The name is derived from the Italian word "sasso," meaning stone.
The history of Sassicaia is intertwined with the vision of Marchese Mario Incisa della Rocchetta, who sought to create a wine in the style of Bordeaux in Tuscany. He recognized the suitability of the stony terroir for Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grapes, which were not traditionally grown in the region. The first commercial vintage of Sassicaia was released in 1968, and it quickly gained recognition as a Super Tuscan wine, eventually leading to the establishment of the Bolgheri Sassicaia DOC.

Absolutely loved the cheese store! Everyone was super helpful and friendly. Lena helped us — she was very knowledgeable on all the cheeses: where they came from, what the region is like, what they are known for. It was like wine tasting for cheese.
Ordered several cheeses from them and the wrong items were delivered. Contacted the store and they recognized the error and immediately sent the correct order the next day without any fuss. Really appreciate the promptness and professionalism.
