Nomine Renard Champagne Blanc de Blanc NV (750ml)

Nominé-Renard is a family estate in Villevenard, a quiet village a few kilometers south of the Côte des Blancs. Its vineyards sit on the slopes above the Saint-Gond marshes, where the Petit Morin river begins its course. The house took its name from two winegrowing families, the Nominés and the Renards, who joined their vines and their know-how. Claude Nominé has led the estate since 1973 and now works with the next generation, Simon Nominé. They farm about twenty hectares across the Petit Morin, the Sézannais and the Marne Valley. As a récoltant-manipulant, the family grows every grape it uses and makes and bottles all of its wines on the estate, as true grower Champagne houses do. The estate is also a member of the Club Trésors de Champagne, a small circle of growers whose top wines are released under the Spécial Club label. This Blanc de Blancs is made entirely from Chardonnay grown on the chalk and limestone soils of the estate’s hillsides. It is a non-vintage blend that pairs fresh citrus and white-flower character with a creamy texture and a clean mineral finish. The wine offers the precision of the Côte des Blancs style from a family grower that remains independent and close to its land.
