Giuseppe Quintarelli Veneto Rosso 'Primofiore' 2023 (750ml)

Made by the legendary Quintarelli family in Cerè di Negrar, in the hills of Valpolicella just north of Verona — an estate built by Giuseppe "Bepi" Quintarelli into the benchmark for traditionalist Amarone, now carried forward by his daughter Fiorenza and her family. Primofiore is the youngest, most immediate wine in the lineup — a blend of native Corvina and Corvinone with Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, sourced from prized vineyard sites in Valgatara, Sant'Ambrogio, and Montorio on calcareous, mineral-rich soils. The grapes are partially dried before fermentation using appassimento, the same technique behind the estate's Amarone, then aged over a year in Slavonian oak. The result is vibrant and structured, with dark fruit and subtle baking spice — an approachable, more immediate expression of the estate's exacting standards.
