François Millet & Fils "Les Fouchères" is 100% Pinot Noir, made by François Millet — the legendary former cellar master of Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé, who ran that estate from 1986 to 2019 before starting this small family project with his sons Julien and Adrien. Les Fouchères sits at the bottom of the village of Chambolle-Musigny, on the opposite side of the main road from the grand crus, in a spot the Millets sometimes call "a sort of petit Chambolle." Because this is a négociant-style micro-project rather than an estate with long-held parcels, the focus is more on sourcing distinctive fruit and coaxing out site character than on old-vine pedigree — production happens in Millet's own home, a true garagiste setup with a temperature-controlled cellar beneath the floor. In the glass, expect Chambolle's signature perfume and delicacy: bright red berry fruit with real sucrose-like sweetness, floral lift, and the fine-boned, silky structure the appellation is known for — elegant and precise rather than powerful, drinking with real charm even young.
