Clément Faugier Marrons Entiers are whole, peeled chestnuts, tender and lightly sweet, with a soft, buttery texture and a rich nutty flavor. They are ready to use straight from the pack, so they're a shortcut for holiday cooking. Roast them with Brussels sprouts, simmer them into soups and stuffings, fold them into poultry and game dishes, or use them in cakes and desserts. The producer is a French house in Privas, in the Ardèche region of southern France, where engineer Clément Faugier set up the first factory to make marrons glacés industrially in 1882, at a time when disease had hit the area's silk industry and he wanted to revive the local economy. In 1885 he created his famous crème de marrons from marrons glacés that broke during production. More than 140 years later, Privas is still known as the capital of the chestnut, and Clément Faugier remains a family-run name in chestnut specialties.
