Bruno Giacosa Barbaresco 'Asili' 2022 (750ml)

Made by the Bruno Giacosa estate in Neive, one of the most legendary names in Piedmont, founded on Bruno's third-generation family winemaking roots and his unmatched knowledge of the Langhe's best vineyard sites. Giacosa began acquiring prime estate parcels in the early 1980s, including 2.5 hectares in Asili — widely regarded as one of the two or three finest single vineyards in all of Barbaresco. Asili sits on calcareous clay with a distinct sandy vein, a soil profile that tends to give the wine real elegance and perfume alongside its structure. The estate is now carried forward by Bruno's daughter Bruna, who continues his exacting, traditionalist approach: low yields, extended maceration, and aging in large French oak, all built to let the vineyard speak for itself rather than the winemaking. 2022 was a warm, dry vintage in Piedmont, with an early budbreak and a growing season shaped by drought — conditions that, with careful canopy management, still delivered ripe, healthy fruit. The result is classic Asili: aromatic and refined, layered with raspberry, wild strawberry, and rose, with the fine, silky tannins the site is known for.
