Brovia's Barolo "normale" is 100% Nebbiolo, blending mostly younger vines (20–30 years old on average) from their Serralunga d'Alba holdings in Brea with a smaller portion of older vines (50+ years) sourced from spillover in their Castiglione Falletto crus — Rocche di Castiglione, Villero, and Garblet Sue. Farming is fully natural with zero chemicals, done by the Brovia family themselves, and the wine ferments spontaneously across cement, open-top wood, and steel before a long élevage of two to two-and-a-half years in large oak casks — a touch longer than their single-cru bottlings, which mellows the tannins and makes it more approachable on release. In the glass expect classic, perfumed Barolo: violet, rose, dark spice, and crushed mint up front, with layers of cherry, strawberry compote, orange zest, and star anise on the palate. It's structured and savory rather than fruit-forward, with polished tannins and bright acidity — drinkable earlier than most Barolo but still built to age.
