Creste di gallo (sometimes spelled creste de gallo) is another type of pasta. Its name means “rooster’s crest” in Italian because the pasta looks like a little rooster’s comb or crest — it’s short, curved, and ridged with a somewhat crescent shape.
It’s great at holding onto sauces thanks to its ridges and hollow shape. Creste di gallo is often used in soups, pasta salads, or dishes with chunky sauces where the sauce can cling inside the little curves
