Roselyne Gavoty took over the winemaking in 1985 and the whole estate in 2001 with her husband Hervé, and the vineyard has been certified organic since 2020. The farm lies in the hills of the Var, shut off from the sea by the Massif des Maures, with hot summers, cold winters and wide swings between day and night over limestone and clay. Twenty of its fifty hectares sit on flatter ground than its Côtes de Provence slopes, so they carry the Vin de Pays du Var name. La Cigale, named for the cicadas, is built on Grenache and Cinsault with a little Carignan and Syrah.
