It's the largest owner of Le Musigny, the grand cru many consider the Côte de Nuits' most graceful, and the only estate that still makes a white wine there. The Musigny Blanc comes from a small parcel of Chardonnay, about two-thirds of a hectare, set among the domaine's Pinot Noir vines. When those old vines were replanted in the 1990s, the family took an unusually patient step. For more than two decades they declassified the young vines' wine to simple Bourgogne Blanc, waiting until the roots had grown deep enough into the limestone to speak for the vineyard. Only with the 2015 vintage did Musigny Blanc return as a grand cru, and production is still counted in a few thousand bottles a year. The 2024 continues that revival. It's a rare, quietly powerful white built for the cellar, and one of the most singular bottles in all of Burgundy.
