The estate has been farmed biodynamically since 2001. The Clos du Prieuré sits in the village of Vougeot, near the small river Vouge. It's a walled vineyard owned entirely by the domaine, and its name points back to the village's monastic past. Vougeot is known almost only for red wine, so a white from here is a rarity. This one is made from Chardonnay grown on the lower, flatter ground near the river. In 2012 the growing season was a hard one: a deep winter freeze, a poor flowering, a rainy early summer and hail in parts of the Côte. Yields were among the smallest in decades, but the fine weather late in the season produced whites with concentrated fruit and lively energy. More than ten years on, this bottle should show the richer, nutty side of mature white Burgundy. It goes well with roast chicken, scallops or a washed-rind cheese.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Natasha Leonnet","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":50517462220969,"sku":"90000452","price":225.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":false}],"url":"https:\/\/cheesestore.com\/products\/domaime-de-la-vougeraie-vougeot-clos-du-prieure-monopole-blanc-2012-750ml","provider":"The Cheese Store of Beverly Hills | Domenico's Foods","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
